Last night, on June 21, 2024, Atlanta joined over 100 cities worldwide to celebrate Make Music Day, an international event held annually on the summer solstice. From 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., music filled the streets of Atlanta’s historic districts, including East Atlanta, Virginia Highland, Little 5 Points, and West End. This event, coordinated through the Atlanta Main Street program, showcased the vibrant local music scene across the city.
This was Little 5 Points's third year joining Make Music Day!
Highlights:
• Flutists at Hudson Grille: The Hudson Grille in Little 5 Points resonated with enchanting flute melodies, captivating attendees and adding a serene, magical touch to the evening.
• Citywide Celebration: Musicians of all genres performed throughout the day, transforming Atlanta into a living, breathing symphony.
• Main Street Cohort: This event is part of the Atlanta Department of Planning’s Main Street cohort program, which since 2019 has been revitalizing historic neighborhoods through design, organization, promotion, and economic vitality.
